Budget inn

My boyfriend and I had just moved from Connecticut to Florida and ended up here. The ladies who work there are always smiling and pleasant, and they've been really helpful, even giving us information about nearby apartment rentals and going beyond their jobs. I'd have given five stars, except the online pictures showed a swimming pool, and apparently they were having issues with it. Otherwise, it's a nice little place to stay.

The rooms were filthy, and the housekeepers did very little cleaning. The owners still charged guests outrageous fees for dirt or damage they hadn't caused. They were rude, showed horrible customer service, and treated people as less than human in what I see as prejudiced behavior. There is absolutely nothing handicap accessible here. The owners personally forced a person with a disability to move in the middle of a fully paid week, taking them from the hotel's most accommodating room to a closet-sized one. It was barely possible to walk around the bed to reach the bathroom or the entrance, let alone use the wheelchair needed for daily life. They also lied about why they were making the person move.

The only thing that worked well was the TV. Room 106 had an AC that didn't work properly and a cramped, small bathroom. The facility is outdated and the parking lot is tiny. There was a coffee pot in the room, but no breakfast, despite the Budget Inn website advertising it as free. This motel is overpriced. For $20 more, Holiday Inn offers clean sheets, a bigger bathroom, better AC, more TV channels, coffee free all day, and the advertised breakfast.

I had an unpleasant stay. There was hair on the shower walls and no drain cover, and I had to track down a cleaner just to get fresh towels. When I found her, she was talking with another cleaner who was lying on a bed using her phone. She said they had too many rooms to clean and hadn't reached the back of the hotel yet. They were taking a break, then planned to finish everything.
