Courtyard Oklahoma City Northwest

The rooms were really nice, and the staff were friendly. The price wasn’t too high either. There’s a nice indoor pool and a workout room, and the hotel is easy to reach from the highway.

I’m a traveling nurse and often stay at Marriott hotels for weeks at a time, so I know how room cleaning usually works. During a two-night stay at the Courtyard NW, I woke up feeling unwell and asked for a 4pm late checkout. They honored it, so I went back to sleep. Around 2:45pm, I woke with a nosebleed and got blood on the bed covers. I called down to ask if housekeeping could bring up fresh ones, but was told the cleaners had already left. That seemed odd to me since they usually stay until the rooms are done, though maybe they had gone home. That part wasn’t a problem. I’d also booked another night as a separate reservation through the app. I asked to be moved to another room for that new booking, but they refused. Since it was a completely separate reservation, I wondered: if I checked out, went into town, and came back to check in, would they put me in a new room or send me back to the dirty one?

We ended up here at the last minute because the elevator at our other hotel broke. It was reasonably priced and worked for our plans, but fell short of my standards, especially for a Marriott. If I’d had more time, I would’ve looked elsewhere. You get what you pay for. The front desk staff were extremely nice, and the lobby looked good. The location was convenient, right off the highway, with most places in OKC within 15 minutes. But the rooms felt outdated. The mini fridge was small, the AC went down to 65 degrees, the water pressure was extremely low, and the water never got hot enough. Two lights didn’t work, and the Wi-Fi was down every night we stayed. The couch had a stain, and there was a used washcloth on the shower curtain. Housekeeping only came once during our four-night stay, and only to one of the two rooms I had booked. They clearly need to do better with cleaning.

We’ve stayed here three times now because our daughter attends OCU and we visit OKC several times a year. The room was spotless, pleasant, and quiet, and it’s easy to get anywhere in the city. Penn Square mall is just two minutes away, and there’s a McDonald’s right next door. The only odd thing was that the hot and cold taps were reversed at the vanity sink in Room 112. Stay here!
