Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Oklahoma City Airport

The indoor pool and hot tub were nice additions. There were kids on both of my stays, but they quieted down by 11pm even on weekend nights. It was a very quiet, good hotel overall. I’m only giving four stars because the daytime girl seems more focused on personal calls than the front desk. She does her job, just without the friendliness I’d expect, though maybe I’m asking too much. L

For $66, the room and lobby were clean and reasonably updated, even if they weren’t especially nice. Breakfast had a waffle maker, which was delicious, plus toast, muffins, cereal, juice, and coffee. I didn’t use the indoor pool, but it looked clean. We were only there one night and left early, but it was a decent stay for the price. The poor man at the desk also handled a vicious, belligerent woman very professionally during check-in.

The room was nothing like the photos. It was dirty, with mold in the bathroom, and had a stagnant, putrid smell. Even the hallway was bad, but when I entered the room I had to step back out to catch my breath. For a non-smoking room, it smelled strongly of cheap cigarettes and dirt weed. At check-in, I had to argue with the front desk woman because she tried to charge me twice for a reservation I’d paid for online. I told her four times and showed the receipt twice before she finally “found” it. Save your money. I’ve seen roach motels nicer than this. Do not stay here.

My family was staying there, and I was a guest when the second-shift Indian guy threatened to call police because two kids were swimming, even though the pool was for guests. The first-shift lady was rude and hung up on me three times when I asked for the manager, then the general manager, then the owner because nobody answered my questions. The staff need customer service training in how they treat people of color. They talk and act differently when white people check in or out. The third floor smelled of cigarette smoke, yet they had a no-smoking rule and a deposit. My TV wouldn’t work properly. I had to turn it on at the set and use the remote for volume. I booked a king bed but got a queen. The breakfast items took a long time to be refilled. If I hadn’t been so far from home, I’d have gotten a full refund. My money is just as good as anyone else’s, and I expect respect when I’m respectful. I look forward to hearing from the owner, though I won’t hold my breath. This was my first and last time here.
