Sea Cliff House Motel cancelled our upcoming reservation and banned me from returning after an earlier stay, because I hadn’t told them in advance that I have a service dog. My dog was well behaved, under control, and caused no problems while we were there. As I understand it, the ADA doesn’t require advance notice to a hotel or motel about a service animal. The motel’s supposed policy seems to go against those requirements and shows a serious misunderstanding of service animal laws. Being treated this way made me feel alienated and discriminated against for having a legitimate service animal. It also disrupted our plans and caused stress we didn’t need. I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone with a service animal unless the policy is corrected.

The woman at the front desk was so pleasant and even gave us a few places to eat nearby. We stayed in jacuzzi suite 4 for my fiancé’s birthday, and the room was really clean. The shower and tub both had great water pressure and temperature. It was a quiet time of year in October, but we had such an enjoyable trip. We’re already thinking about bringing all our kids down sometime soon. 10/10, we’d stay again.

The jacuzzi hadn’t been cleaned, and the deposit still hasn’t shown up in my account. They said it would be back the next day, but it’s been almost a week. I’ve called about both the room and the deposit, left several messages, and nobody has called back.

The property is right on the beach and clearly well cared for. We were in room #3, with a king bed and an indoor jetted bath. The bed was amazing, and the tub was just right. The outside pool and spa were spotless, too. Both young women at the front desk were professional and kind. We’ll definitely come back for another staycation. Worth the price.

The room looks pretty, but if you smoke, they may accuse you of smoking there and keep your money. You might as well smoke in the room, since they’ll say you did anyway.
