Green Dolphin Motel

We didn't see any bugs, and the pool seemed clean enough. The room had a nice cooling unit, and the workers were very kind and fixed a problem quickly. But the train tracks are right nearby, so it can be loud. At first the room looked clean, though dated and partly updated. Pulling back the sheets showed they weren't clean, we could feel sand in them. The floors looked fine until I spilled water and wiped it up, and the towel turned dark brown. The more we walked around, the clearer it got that the room hadn't been fully cleaned, just tidied to look that way. I wouldn't recommend this location.

Staff were kind and attentive, and the place was clean. We liked the patio's little table and chairs and the small, clean pool. It's centrally located near everything. For the price, we expected very little and were pleasantly surprised.

The one good thing was the location, right on the main stretch across from the water, and our room had an ocean view. Everything else was a mess. The parking lot was a nightmare, tight spaces, and the spot they assigned us at check-in didn't even exist. We had to get a new one. The floors felt like they'd been lightly swept but not mopped, and the kitchenette counters looked like they hadn't been wiped in weeks. The room layout was completely different from the booking site's photos. The bathroom was cramped and had no sink, so we had to use the kitchenette sink. The beds and mattresses felt incredibly cheap. We could easily hear guests outside and in the neighboring room. Dirty, overpriced. The photos I attached show the counter and what came off a small patch of floor when I wiped it with plain water.

We plan to stay here again next year. Parking worked fine for us, even with a big truck, and the AC worked really well. It's a short walk to the beach and pier. Our room was spacious and set up well, with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, silverware, pots and pans, dish soap, and a clean sponge. There was even a broom, handy when my kids spilled cheese from their lunchable pizza. I had to improvise a dustpan with cardboard, but as a mom I can adapt. Maybe someone broke the one they had, though it would be helpful to have one in the room. The floors could have used more attention, but the rest of the room was clean. The staff were amazing, friendly, and actually smiled, which made us feel welcome. We had to book last minute because our other booking was too disturbing to stay in.
