Margaretville Mtn Inn B&B and Village Suites

Carol was a warm, accommodating host, and breakfast was a delicious treat. The bed and breakfast is charming, clean, cozy, and well maintained, with a comfortable, well-equipped room. I'd recommend it if you're looking for somewhere near the ski resorts or local hiking.

At Margaritaville Catskill, Carol made us feel welcome and looked after us so attentively. The room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable, and breakfast was a delicious start to the day. The hilltop inn is a short, pretty drive from Margaretville, with lovely views from the front. Breakfast was a treat: eggs made how you like, toast, bacon, juice, tea, and coffee. One morning there was warm pumpkin bread, and the next, blueberry crumb. We also had French toast one day and waffles another. Our first-floor suite had two beds in one room for three people, another room that sleeps two, and a bathroom. There was a TV in that room. The beds were comfortable, with plenty of bedding for chilly nights. We liked the common area with its two couches, chair, and hassocks, and the older table lamps were gorgeous. It had a coffee maker, tea, instant coffee, mugs and disposable cups, games, a microwave, utensils, books, magazines, and a small fridge. There's also a huge front porch with wicker furniture, though it wasn't warm enough for us to sit out there. We were so glad to meet Carol and enjoyed chatting with her. There is lots to do up there.

The location is great for exploring the Catskills' scenery, and Carol greeted us warmly. Breakfast was delicious: we had French toast and waffles, and they accommodated our no-pork request with turkey bacon. The Emerald Room was spacious and clean, as was its bathroom, but that bathroom was detached. The booking description said private bathroom, which we expected to be accessible from inside the room, so that felt awkward. Some deeper dusting and pest control would have helped, though it's an old, creepy house and I didn't expect much else. The mattress was the main reason for the lower rating. It was memory foam but much too plush, and it hurt our backs. Also, the hot tub wasn't operating during our stay, which was disappointing after a long hike.
