Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Omaha at MH Landing

I travel through Omaha for work 2-3 times a month and am a Marriott member. This was my first stay here, but it won’t be my last. It’s a newer facility with updated decor if you know Fairfield’s. The hotel was very clean, and the fast internet was a plus. The location is great, just off I-80, with loads of places to eat within walking distance or a short drive. Excellent hotel!

The hotel is beautiful, super clean, and looks great throughout, right off the interstate. My only reason for giving four stars is the hot breakfast. At $150 a night, I’d hope for something decent, but these chain hotels cut corners and serve the worst sausage and eggs possible. I know better food costs more. The rest of breakfast was great, and I don’t blame the staff since they don’t order the supplies. It’s the rich corporations cutting costs. I’d stay again for the clean, nice hotel and friendly staff.

The front desk staff were awesome, friendly, and helpful, and the rooms were spacious, modern, and really clean. The pool wasn’t huge, but it was clean and a nice place to relax. We enjoyed our stay, and the hotel is conveniently close to the zoo area. We’d definitely come back.

The hotel is brand new and still very clean, but I won’t be coming back to this Fairfield. They’re usually my go-to for work travel. The worst issue was a loud jackhammer-like noise before 7 am every morning. On the first morning, I described it to the front desk employee and asked if there was construction. He just shrugged and said no, with no offer to look into it or file a maintenance ticket. I’m guessing it was plumbing if not construction, and I assume it’ll keep being an issue. Breakfast was lackluster too. One morning the eggs were grainy and the waffles were hard, with chunks of hard sugar in them. The next morning wasn’t much better. There were also basic things missing in the room. The coffee machine had no basket for the coffee, there was no tray for the hand soap in the bathroom, and the AC wouldn’t go below 65°. That might not bother everyone, but I sleep hot, and during thunderstorm season it was disappointing.
