Hampton Inn Omaha/West Dodge Road (Old Mill)

Friendly, welcoming staff and a convenient location made this a solid value for what I paid. There's quick access around Omaha, plus a nearby mall and plenty of places to eat. The view over the lot was useful for keeping an eye on my vehicle. Breakfast was great, too. I'd call it a four-star stay at Hampton Inn Old Mill in Davenport, NE. The rooms were mostly clean, though I did have concerns about the bedding: the sheets and comforter were discolored. When booking, it may be worth checking Hilton directly, since its rates beat third-party sites during my stay.

We stayed on January 24, and I believe the front desk gentleman who helped us was named Dupree. His enthusiasm and customer service were terrific and much appreciated. He was kind to everyone who came through the door. Definitely a valuable teammate!

For work travel, not having room service and having few food options nearby makes this place less than ideal. Breakfast was the usual subpar hotel kind, and the basic shampoo and conditioner were fine. The woman who checked me in was chatty, but nice enough. The rooms are “renovated,” but there was buildup in the shower corners and the rooms still have shower curtains, which I have feelings about in hotels. I was glad I could turn on the air in my room, since the lobby and hallways were so hot. Some hotels won't let you run the air after a certain time of year, and I'm glad I could here.

The kitchen staff were friendly and good to everyone there. The front desk was a big help, and I liked how they greeted people as they came and went. Overall, it was a good experience.
