La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Omaha Southwest

The location worked well, and the WiFi and cable TV were good. The price was lower than other nearby hotels, and the place wasn't as nice as those, so it felt like you got what you paid for. Staff were okay, neither especially friendly nor rude. The tub was clogged and barely drained while I showered.

The rooms looked nice and were clean, and most of the staff were very nice. The young woman at check-in and checkout came across as a bit rude. Finding the hotel can be tricky since it's not right off L Street. Breakfast was decent, with waffles as the only hot item; they also had toast, bagels, yogurt, boiled eggs, and cold cereal. The frustrating change is that late checkout is no longer free. It costs $20 to $40 depending on how late you want to stay. The hotel's greed amazes me. 7/10.

The room impressed me and had everything I needed. The shower was hot, with plenty of shampoo and other options, and the location was pretty good, near a car wash and restaurants. The toilet seat was broken, though. At the front desk, a woman asked for my service dog paperwork after I showed my ADA card. The stress nearly made me pass out, and I was shocked. My dog is a lifesaver who can perform several lifesaving tasks. I felt she wanted paperwork so she could charge me more, and was told to be prepared to pay for the dog or have service dog paperwork. The owner apologized, explained the situation, and I accepted the apology. That felt good.

The customer service was great, and I was kind to the clerk, who did an outstanding job. The room had several maintenance problems, though. The toilet seat wasn't attached, the bedside lamp made a lot of zipping and zapping noises when I switched it on, and the bathroom faucet moved even though it was supposed to be fixed in place. I'd recommend the place, but they have fallen behind on upkeep.
