Fairfield Inn & Suites Rancho Cordova

The late checkout took some back and forth. I was told 4 pm depended on availability, even though Marriott's website says it's guaranteed for platinum members and above unless the hotel is a convention or resort property. This is neither, and I eventually got the checkout time after speaking with the front desk. It should have been automatic under the benefits page. Otherwise, it's a solid, standard Fairfield with little to complain about.

The room was comfortable, and the staff were genuinely friendly and doing their best. But the bathrooms were a real problem: I had to switch rooms over an issue in the first one, and the second bathroom was in worse shape. Breakfast also had very few vegetarian options. It seemed the staff were working within limits set by staffing or management. Better upkeep and operations would make this a much better stay.

Christine kept the breakfast area clean and welcoming, even with guests constantly coming through, and she was quick to restock the food. There was a good range, from banana yogurt and oatmeal to omelettes, bacon, and waffles. Raul at the bar was great too, and let us enjoy DoorDash pizza and fried chicken with our drinks in a relaxed setting. The service was warm from the moment I arrived, and the staff made sure I was comfortable. I had a fantastic stay at the Fairfield Marriott Inn. The breakfast, helpful team, and welcoming atmosphere made it memorable, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with good amenities.

One star because the front desk treated my wife terribly. We went in hoping to use a gift card I won at a work raffle. I planned to spend the full $1,000 at different locations while traveling around the area, but this place wouldn't price match and didn't give my wife the time of day. Try somewhere in the Roseville area instead, where they will price match.
