Motel 6 Prairie Du Chien, WI

It was a chilly Friday night, but we were lucky to find a room in a town about an hour away. We'd arrived by motorcycle around 5:30 on 10/4, only to learn they were overbooked and had no room for us. The front desk person gave us a number to call for a refund, which we still haven't received. We've tried calling the hotel directly many times, and nobody ever answers. It's a beautiful location, but unfortunately this place is a dud. Don't waste your time or money. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

The staff were nice, but the place was nasty. They messed up the reservations for my room and for the others traveling with us, overbooking us. We ended up with a room for two nights instead of four, and it smelled terrible. The main door and bathroom door wouldn't shut all the way. Just a dirty motel.

The room was a decent size, clean, and more recently updated than the outside might suggest. It's a nice, inexpensive place to stay in the area. There's a train line behind the motel with freight trains passing every hour or so, so light sleepers should keep that in mind.

The view from our room was breathtaking, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful when we asked for dinner recommendations. My family and I stayed for the weekend, and we'll come back to visit.
