Park Plaza Regency Lodge Omaha

We stayed three nights and were really impressed. The hotel was clean and quiet, the pool was clean, breakfast was good, and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the decor. There were two weddings while we were there, and it was still extremely quiet. Housekeeping made the beds every day and were very accommodating. We’ll definitely return. They do put a $25 hold per night on your card in case of damage, but it was released a few hours after checkout, so it wasn’t a big deal.

The lobby was beautiful, but the rest of the hotel didn’t live up to it. Several things in our room were broken, half the lights didn’t work, and the beds were very uncomfortable. The bedding was stained and had hair on it, so we had to ask for blankets. The sauna didn’t work, and there were no towels in the pool area. Breakfast was okay, about what you’d get at a Motel 6. We would’ve left if family hadn’t been staying here too.

We prepaid for several rooms, and were told they couldn’t refund any of them. To be clear, the problems were only in the rooms my colleague and I shared. We won’t be back. We were with a group of exchange students last weekend. The entrance looked good and staff were helpful, but one bed had obvious semen stains. Three lights and the fridge didn’t work either. We called about the stained bedspread, waited half an hour for housekeeping, then called again and asked for another room. The front desk person understood and moved us, though it was away from the kids we were supervising, which wasn’t ideal. The replacement room seemed fine until I stepped on an earthworm on the way to bed. The next morning we mentioned the worm and the trash on the patio, and said the door had to be slammed to close and its deadbolt didn’t work. They said they’d speak to housekeeping. When we came back, the trash was still there and the door still wouldn’t lock. There were no time locks either, so anyone could enter from any side door without a key card.

This was our second visit to the Regency Lodge. We had an engagement party here a year ago and were impressed by the service. We stayed two nights during a wedding, when the hotel was nearly full. My shower had no water pressure, and the only other room available was a log cabin suite, so they moved us into it. The hotel could use repairs and renovations, but the food and bar are pretty good. I’d recommend it.
