Wyndham Omaha / West Dodge

I only stayed because my four-year-old had surgery at 5:30 a.m. up the street. The stay was extremely disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this Wyndham location. Customer service was unprofessional and not helpful. The rooms smelled of mildew, while the hallways reeked of cigarettes, marijuana, and must. It didn’t feel clean or maintained, the TV signal barely worked, and you could hear everyone walking through the halls. There was no privacy. I also felt uncomfortable about security. Anyone could walk into the hotel, and the outside doors only lock in certain areas of the building. I wouldn’t stay here again. Do your research before booking.

The carpet was stained and smelled bad, there was trash under the bed, and the ceiling was flaking. The lot hadn’t been scooped either. I’m handicapped and had to trudge through the snow to an unlocked back door, past people smoking outside. This was the dirtiest place I’ve ever been. I wouldn’t recommend it even to a dog. Yuck.

Once the lobby cleared, my team and I got our four rooms after paying an unexpected credit card deposit. There was one major problem: pee stains on a mattress. I noticed the removable mattress covers, which I’d never seen before, and it made me think the beds hadn’t been cleaned properly. They moved us to another room, which was really good. Breakfast was served early with no problems. Before that, we’d walked into a lobby where about six families were arguing at the front desk over refunds. Complaints included a room like a janitor’s closet, smoke and other bad smells in rooms and hallways, the pool being out of service for Christmas and New Year’s, and bedbugs. Staff were rude to some guests, though not to us, and police were called. At checkout, staff had to inspect every room before letting us leave, which was unusual. Even after they said our rooms were cared for, it was complicated to get our full $200 deposit because they argued that only $50 had been deposited. Not sure if we just arrived at a bad time.

Our room was filthy and stained all over, and we didn’t feel comfortable using the shower. There was vomit by the elevators, smoke smell throughout the place, and every surface was battered or dirty. Please stay somewhere else.
