AC Hotel by Marriott Cleveland Beachwood

After a full day of back-to-back work meetings, I arrived late and tired, only to learn that the hotel had oversold and had no room for my confirmed reservation, which I’d booked a month earlier. They kept me waiting in the lobby for an hour while checking two other properties, without even offering water. The staff seemed casual about it. After I followed up several times, they said they wished they had another floor for guests, but didn’t, and that they’d been dealing with the same problem since morning. The other properties were full too. I had to book another hotel at the last minute and pay more. It was a terrible experience, and I don’t recommend staying here. They were highly unprofessional.

The hotel looks nice and the location is good, but the walls seem paper-thin. I could hear my neighbors snoring, coughing, and making every other noise, which woke me up at night. When I asked to move rooms, they said no.

I always enjoy staying here because the staff are so friendly. Whenever something comes up, they quickly find or put in a fix after I report it. I just wish breakfast came with the stay, though it’s not a big deal.

I’m a Platinum Elite member and try to stay at Marriott hotels whenever I can. AC hotels tend to have a modern business traveler feel, with nicely appointed rooms and a contemporary design. Valerie at the front desk was a huge help when the guest printer wasn’t working. She printed several things I needed for work, and the macaroons at check-in were a nice touch. The location was great, with several restaurants within walking distance. My one concern was the mattress in my double room, which had a pretty bad stain. It made me question the cleanliness. I messaged the front desk about it after I left, and they said they’d replace it. I hope they do. If you stay in 403, you may want to check.
