Mayhurst Inn

Cuddling the baby goats was the icing on top of a relaxing weekend at Mayhurst. Casey was charming, knew the local history, and had great suggestions for the area. The place was clean and beautiful, the hosts were gracious, breakfast was delicious, and the location was great. There’s plenty more to love. Thanks for sharing your family adventure with the world. We can’t wait to return!

We visited Montpelier, James Madison’s home, and found several nice restaurants nearby. There was still snow on the ground, so we couldn’t explore as much of the property, though the house and grounds are beautiful. The classic architecture and decor were lovely. For our Valentine’s Day weekend, my husband and I stayed in the Lincoln suite, with a separate living area, reading nook, and bedroom. We read and talked beside the fireplace, while classical music from the entryway added an elegant feel and helped us feel less easily overheard. Breakfast in the elegant dining room was delicious, and Casey was friendly and helpful. You can tell they really care about hospitality. I’d highly recommend Mayhurst.

I booked this for my girlfriend’s birthday, and she was super pleased. It really hit the spot. We had a great time chatting with Casey, who’s a wonderful host. The breakfast was top notch, and coffee, tea, and biscuits are available anytime, along with lots of other thoughtful touches. The rooms and house are beautiful, with shared spaces to relax, and lovely surroundings, including a pond and grounds to walk around.

The owners, Casey and Jason Cashell, are warm, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. You can see how much care and hard work they’ve put into preserving Mayhurst Estate. The four-story mansion is stunning, full of original details, and the magnolia garlands made from trees on the property make the home feel especially personal. We had a wonderful time and look forward to visiting again.
