Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites - Waterpark by IHG

The check-in line was the low point by far. We arrived on Wednesday, and even though I was only third in line with two attendants working, the wait was at least 45 minutes. I was also disappointed that the large kids’ pool section shown on the website is no longer there. Once we got past that, the hotel worked well for our 5, 8 and 9-year-olds. There was lots for them to do, and most of it was free. I often saw staff cleaning, and extra towels or blankets arrived promptly when I asked. The pool and evening entertainment for families was great. Viecka was our favorite host, funny and personable, and Lange did a great job too. The kids had a blast with them. A few other things weren’t great: the buffet eggs tasted weird to me, and on our last night the fan light switched on in the middle of the night. They couldn’t fix it because the fan uses a remote, so we had to turn the whole fan off.

Darvel at the wave surf area made a real difference for our family. He’s wonderful with children and takes time to help them feel comfortable and confident while they’re having fun. His patience, enthusiasm, and genuine care are easy to see, and it feels like he truly loves his work. We’re grateful he helped make our trip even more memorable. We’ve chosen this resort for family vacations for years, and the staff are kind, welcoming, and attentive every time, from arrival through checkout. Holiday Inn is lucky to have Darvel on the team. Habiba at the breakfast restaurant was so welcoming and full of energy. She gave us helpful ideas for the day, and there were plenty of breakfast choices, all hot and fresh. Karima at the ice shop was just as friendly, and such a joy to talk to. The resort was very clean, with spacious rooms and lots to do. There’s an ice cream shop, game rooms, and a canteen with pizza, Mexican food, and more. Everyone we met was great. 10/10, we’d stay here again.

The kids had a great time with the big waterslides, surfing, theatre, and arcade. The café staff were especially friendly, and Habiba and Karima went out of their way for our family. It really is a fun place, and we had a nice stay. Still, we were disappointed to find the waterslides had been ripped out, with nothing about that on the website. The pool decks also didn’t seem to get cleaned every day, which was pretty gross, and we had a few problems with the elevator.
