Homewood Suites by Hilton Lake Buena Vista - Orlando

The morning breakfast was a useful part of the stay, with enough choice and quality to get the day going without having to find food elsewhere right away. The front desk team was attentive and approachable too. They answered questions clearly and dealt with requests promptly, without making the interactions feel scripted. Check-in was simple and efficient, and the arrival felt calm after a day of travel. The rooms were clean, modern, and laid out in a practical way. The bathroom and bedding were well kept, there was room to relax, and noise stayed at a reasonable level. The location is good as well. It’s a dependable, comfortable hotel that handles the basics very well.

We booked this Homewood Suites for eight days because it advertises itself as dog friendly. Our small puppy stays securely crated in the bedroom whenever we leave, but staff said housekeeping couldn’t service the room at all because of vague “security concerns.” We weren’t even asking for a full cleaning, just towels, toilet paper, and trash pickup, and that was refused too. I left the used towels in the hallway and put the trash bins outside the door. The trash was eventually taken, and the bins set just inside, but no clean towels or toilet paper arrived. The front desk didn’t answer when I called. In person, I was told there were no towels available. I was left deciding whether to skip a shower before dinner or go out and buy towels and basic supplies myself. The stay still had problems, and this level of service is unacceptable at premium rates. If the property can’t provide basic accommodation to people traveling with dogs, “dog friendly” doesn’t fit. Other Homewood Suites we’ve stayed at were far better, and this was appalling for the cost and length of the visit.

The location is GREAT for all the parks, and we paid an amazing price. The room was also perfectly fine: clean and a good-sized apartment with a large bedroom, bathroom, living area, and small kitchenette. Still, I wouldn’t stay again. The reception staff and managers seemed to be trying, but too many basic things went wrong. Breakfast was decent but plain: scrambled eggs, some kind of potato, and something that might have been meat, plus the usual coffee, tea, muffins, toast, and cereal. One breakfast staff member was incredibly rude when guests asked about the slow hot food refills. I understand they were understaffed, but she complained she was alone and people would have to wait until she was ready. I reported how she spoke to guests. Housekeeping was a mess. Over just more than two weeks, from 2 Jan 2026 to 16 Jan 2026, I went to reception five times for fresh towels and a bath mat. Sometimes they handed towels over, sometimes housekeeping brought them, but each time something was missing. Room service came at uneven intervals, from two to four days apart, and bins or the bath mat were often missed. Shampoo and shower gel were never replenished, and I had to ask reception for toilet roll three times. The housekeeping team needs retraining. The price was great, but I wouldn’t come back.

The room was very clean, but I’m unsure I’d recommend this place to families because of several unsettling security incidents. I checked in on the app and asked for a physical key. The clerk gave it to me after asking only for my room number, without asking my name or for ID. That seems like a staff training issue at a family-oriented hotel. I had trouble getting into my room, and the person called to help had no name tag and couldn’t speak English, so I couldn’t confirm whether he was maintenance or an employee. He had no toolbox or tool belt either. Later, someone came to my door saying he needed to inspect the safe. He had no identification and asked me to check for a green light, saying he was supposed to inspect all room safes at 10:30 a.m. I didn’t let him in and couldn’t tell what his role was or whether the process was legitimate.
