Palm Square Belle Isle

I lived here from 2018 to 2020, and it was the worst place to stay. The stair floorboards were peeling, the elevator was always broken, and the pool’s wood tiles gave you splinters like crazy. Hall lights kept going out too. Management didn’t clean the dirty rooftops, they just put water on them and called it a day. Rent went up every two months. The grass used to be green, but now it’s mostly lawn with bits of grass, like in some of the online photos. Parking is messy and sloppy, with kids screaming and riding bikes in the halls. A poor woman had an incident with fire and had to go to the hospital. I hope she’s doing okay. Her child said it happened because management didn’t respond when she asked them to change the stovetop. They changed it five months later, after she returned from the hospital. Things started to get cleaned up a little after that incident, according to the child. This place is a dump, and some signs say it used to be a hotel. Most of the rent money went to the new building across from here, which is run by the same manager and costs way more.

You can walk to plenty of restaurants, and convenience stores are right next door, so the area has most everyday needs close by. The complex is off McCoy road, one of the main routes to get onto Semoran and reach Orlando’s MCO international airport. I think the neighborhood is fairly new, maybe two or three years old at most. Maintenance is above average compared with most complexes in that particular part of town, which is bail out. The main drawback for me is the heavy traffic and congestion during rush hour. Some days that’s inconvenient.

I only gave it one star because there was no zero-star option. Residents trash the common areas, kids run around without supervision, and people drink in the parking lot. My vehicles were robbed twice in my own parking lot, and Amazon packages get stolen right outside my front door. Management does nothing. This place is a total dump.

I’ve lived here almost a decade, but I’m only staying because rents are so high and my home is still being built. My apartment has mold and looks like it could cave in at any moment. My car has been broken into many times, and I’m pretty sure most of the people staying here are there illegally. Absolutely atrocious place.
