Residence Inn by Marriott Orlando Lake Buena Vista

A great employee who handles customer experiences gave my two disappointed boys a lovely surprise. They were leaving the arcade after using their tickets, and he offered to treat them to one more game. That turned into another half hour of fun and memories. I'm grateful for the extra effort that helped make our Florida trip amazing. The hotel is conveniently between Disney World and Universal Studios, with a nice pool, hot tub and great game room. The friendly staff provided customer service above and beyond what we expected. Thank you!

The room was clean, spacious, modern and comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchenette, and the price was reasonable. Parking, though, costs $26 plus tax each day. Breakfast had a good spread and plenty of space, but the menu was the same every day. The kids loved the arcade area; we didn't try the pool or other amenities. Housekeeping was limited, as in many hotels of this kind. On alternate days they made the bed without changing the sheets and replenished towels without cleaning the bathroom. It's a decent place, much like a Residence Inn or Homewood Suites.

Front desk service was excellent, and our two-bedroom corner suite was clean, spacious and newly updated. We stayed a week while our home was being repaired. The thin windows let in some I-4 traffic noise, and the unsupervised kids in the pool and hot tub made those areas feel somewhat unsafe at times. Parking fees have risen a lot over the years at this property, which is more than 30 years old. While most Orlando hotels are moving away from parking charges, this one has doubled down. The rest was decent. Also, watch out for the Marriott Vacation Club salesperson in the lobby posing as a “concierge”.

Amen and Tia made settling into our room easy. They were right there when we needed tickets printed, and answered every question accurately. Seeing them and the rest of the staff made my birthday stay in Orlando perfect. I'd definitely return, 10/10!
