The convention center is just the next block behind the hotel, and there are lots of places to eat within walking distance, including Dennys and McDonald's. Walgreens is behind the lodging too. It’s about eight minutes from Universal Studios. Depending on how many are in your party, an $8 Uber each way can cost less than $32 parking. Check-in was quick and easy, breakfast was good with plenty of seating, and I had no complaints. Shoutout to the gentleman working the evening of Jan 26. Around 7 pm, everyone seemed to arrive at once, and he still gave each guest great service. I waited a few minutes for laundry coins, but appreciated that he took his time with people instead of rushing them.

We arrived at the Springhill Marriott on February 16th for the KBIS conference with a work group. Everyone else’s reservation went through smoothly, but we were told ours had been canceled at our request, which wasn’t true. Staff couldn’t explain what happened or say who in their office had canceled it. With no rooms available at Springhill during the busy conference, they offered us a room at the Fairfield Marriott, two miles away. We had no choice but to take it, which split us from our group and meant multiple Ubers for business dinners and meetings. The Fairfield could only book us night to night and warned us we might have to move again. The next day, while we were at the conference, we received an email, not a phone call, asking what we wanted to do with our luggage because they were checking us out. We returned to find ourselves locked out. Front desk staff were consistently rude and unhelpful. They said they’d fix it, but the same lockout happened every day of our stay. They also said our business credit card would be charged for the room, but later we found they’d charged our personal card. When we tried to resolve it, they put us on hold and avoided the issue. The room itself was poor: the door was so difficult to open we had to shoulder it, the AC was broken, and the beds were uncomfortable. My wife and I were repeatedly blamed for problems that were the hotels’ fault, from the mistaken cancellation to the room and billing issues. Both the Springhill Marriott and Fairfield Marriott fell far short of the service Marriott is known for. This turned our KBIS trip into a nightmare, and I’d strongly advise people visiting Orlando to avoid both locations if possible.

For a conference at the OCCC (Orange County Convention Center), this has been the best option I’ve tried so far. I was here with coworkers and friends; they’ve stayed at other nearby hotels with shuttles and prefer this one. It was my first year. Debra made the stay special. I saw her early every morning, always cheerful and helpful. She quickly found solutions and pointed me where I needed to go. She’s a real gem.

Victoria Villafane was the star of the service for me. She helped with the printer, and when it couldn’t print in color, she printed the document herself and cut out the paper. Such a lovely interaction and way beyond what I expected. The rest of the service was excellent too, and they let us check in well before the scheduled time so we could get some much-needed rest. The rooms are very spacious for a fairly reasonable price. Breakfast is free, the gym is open 24/7, and it has all the utilities you need for a stay. It’s a perfect spot for Disney or Universal parks and conventions, with plenty of food nearby and easy walking. Phenomenal service from start to finish.
