Super 8 Osceola Ia

We found this place at a very reasonable room price and were glad we did. The room was clean, the bed super comfortable, the employees had great attitudes, and breakfast was good. We'll stay again.

The room was nice and check-in went smoothly. Check-out was a different story: the clerk was elsewhere and told me to leave the key cards in the box and said the receipt would be emailed, but it never arrived. I called to ask for it, was told it would be sent right away, and still didn't get it. We'll try once more and see what happens.

There wasn't anything good about this hotel. Mold covered the bathtub silicone, and the water smelled and tasted like unusual chemicals. The beds creaked when we moved, and every floor, even in the lobby, felt hollow. The TV was tiny, with no accessible settings or sleep timer. The breakfast room had only four tables, each seating three. The waffle machine was a plus, but the cups for pouring batter were too small, so the waffles came out hollow, gaunt, and roughly shaped. And so on. I know we picked the cheapest hotel in the city, but I expected more. Don't believe the 5-star reviews. It's a Super 8, and you get less than you pay for.

My non-smoking room smelled of smoke and even had ashtrays. The rooms are okay, fairly clean, and cheap. The shower worked well. If money is tight, this beats sleeping in the car, but otherwise I'd spend a little more and go to the casino.
