Quality Inn & Suites Riverfront Oswego

We were here for a wedding and needed to change before the ceremony, which started at check-in time. We called ahead and were able to check in an hour early, which we really appreciated. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean, with a lovely river view and a refrigerator. We were pleasantly surprised to find two bottles of water inside, very handy after a wedding. There was plenty of parking, and breakfast had enough variety for me as someone who’s gluten-free. I especially liked the specialty coffee machine. More hotels should have one. I’d happily stay here again if I’m back in Oswego.

Sunny was really helpful, showed us the easiest ways around the hotel, and pointed out where the pool was. The place smelled fresh and was kept clean, and the breakfast staff were amazing. It was a nice visit, and I’ll definitely come back.

The onsite restaurant was closed, and so were the pool, sauna, and hot tub for maintenance, but I was still charged full price. I asked for a discount and was charged the full rate anyway. I was told, “I will have to ask my manager,” but no manager was contacted while I was there. The room smelled bad, possibly from old carpet and wallpaper, and there were holes in the upholstery. I switched rooms but was moved to the very next room over. My allergies aren’t sensitive, but symptoms started as soon as I checked in and made the stay miserable. I arrived without feeling sick and left feeling horrible. I’ve been home for one day and am 90% better, so I’m sure it was the room.

We couldn’t find another place because of the dirt week race, so we stayed for two nights. I booked a queen, but the bed was full-sized and too small for two adults to sleep comfortably. Even my son has a bigger bed at home. The front desk insisted room 316 had a queen, but it clearly didn’t. The manager needs to check the rooms and update the system. I didn’t sleep well and won’t book here again. The room was pretty good otherwise, but it didn’t have the microwave the website advertised. The only one was in the dining area. Breakfast was basic continental, and the Nescafé machine was the one thing I really liked and looked forward to. I could get coffee or a latte from it all day.
