The pillows were surprisingly good, and the AC got the room nice and cold. The bathroom worked well too. I needed a cheap place for a business trip, and this was good value for the price. The rooms are basic and could use updating, but they’re fine for what you pay. Staff were pleasant, and breakfast had coffee, juice, bagels, and fruit. The hot food was lacking, though.

There are two good restaurants and a gas station with a grocery store close enough to walk to. I liked having a fridge and microwave in the room, and breakfast is included, simple but nice. It’s a small, two-story hotel with friendly staff and a lovely area. If you’re not looking for resort-style amenities, it’s good value for the money.

The former hotel has closed, apparently because of widespread mold. I was told it had spread through the building after the 2011 flood, with cleaning and maintenance neglected by the current owner. The owner built the Comfort Inn and Perkins restaurant out front, and the same approach to upkeep seems to be in play there. Family members stayed at the Comfort Inn and said it was dirty and smelled bad. They now drive 6-8 miles to stay at hotels in Vestal. I suspect this hotel may end up in the same condition.

At 9 the next morning, the breakfast attendant was already closing up. She pointed to a sign saying breakfast ran from 6-9, but it was tucked in the corner of the breakfast area, so there was no way to see it when we checked in. We argued about the timing. After arriving in the middle of the night, we’d changed room types, and the rooms were just OK. Mine had a noisy AC that I fixed at 1am, and the wallpaper was starting to peel. The place is really outdated. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The owner kindly took us in after our car broke down right outside the Quality Inn in Appalachin. We stayed the night while it was being repaired. The hotel is centrally located in town, right beside the car garage, and our room was spacious. I enjoyed the stay, and the complimentary breakfast was excellent.
