Hunters Lodge Motel

This rustic motel is near downtown, with ample parking and a restaurant within walking distance. Service was great, the room was clean, and everything worked. The WiFi was fast and didn’t cut out. The walls are a bit thin, the AC is centrally controlled, and the bed wasn’t the most comfortable.

The woman who answered the phone was very nice, and we liked that this was a locally owned family hotel. My husband and I were just looking for somewhere to crash on the way home from Colorado, but the photos didn’t match the place, inside or out. It’s run down. Our chair had stains, the mattress was worn, soft, and lumpy, the towels were dry rotted, and the microwave looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. There weren’t even cups for making coffee. I can see hunters staying here, but it’s a big no for anyone else. It has potential, but feels so worn out.

There wasn’t much food around town, but I’d stay at this hotel again if I had to. It’s an older house set up like a hotel, with doors along indoor hallways instead of facing outside like a motel. This mansion-sized historic place surprised me. I enjoyed everything from the rooms to the customer service. I was in room 4, which had a truly astonishing painting by the window. There were little fans beside the bed, which was super cool, and cable too. Hotel was 10/10.

Pam was easygoing and really nice. We got a clean room for a great price, with cable t.v. and free coffee in the morning. The shower had great water pressure, and the place was quiet and relaxing. We could open the screened window for cool, fresh air and listen to the birds. What a pleasant way to wake up. This isn’t a typical hotel, it’s much better. We’ll be back!
