Motel 6 Palatine, IL - Chicago Northwest

This was an all-around disgrace of a stay. There were roaches and ants, plus drugged-out guests, and the price wasn't even reasonable compared with other places. The management is shameful and the location is terrible. Stay anywhere else.

I've stayed here before and never had a problem with anyone. The staff are really friendly, and there's plenty nearby to do, including a good selection of restaurants. It's basically a safer version of Schaumburg, without worrying about getting run over. It can get a little noisy, but I don't expect everyone to be completely silent. Great place.

The room had a musty smell, and there was no fridge, coffee, or microwave. The bedding had cigarette burns, the hallway smelled like weed, and the place was infested with roaches.

There was no microwave or mini fridge in the room, which isn't okay for people on vacation. The bed was hard as a rock, and I tossed and turned all night. Thin walls meant I got woken up several times by noise from the hall and nearby rooms. The shower barely worked and needs a deep clean or replacement. Our linens had cigarette burns, and there was no blanket on the bed. I called for one and was told to give them 10 minutes, but nobody called back or brought one, so I went to Walmart down the street and bought one myself. The room smelled bad, and the hallway outside it smelled like an ashtray. When we arrived, the front desk lady wasn't very friendly either. Terrible service and hotel quality. This was the worst trip to Chicago I've ever made, and I will not return.
