White Elephant Palm Beach

My father and I still talk about what a beautiful time we had at the White Elephant. From the minute we arrived, the hospitality was next level. John Wayne and Karen Correa deserve a special mention. Their outstanding service reflects so well on the hotel, and employees like them are a real asset. Thanks to both of them, our stay was enjoyable and stress-free. I'll always remember this trip!

The staff made us feel so welcome, especially Junior, who shuttled us around, always on time, professional, and ready with answers to our questions. He made getting around easy and really lifted the stay. Even with a morning mechanical racket and a mishap with the iron, we'd still recommend the White Elephant. A few improvements to the amenities and some soundproofing would make it a perfect stay. We spent a few days at the White Elephant Palm Beach to get some much-needed time together while visiting family. It's a lovely boutique place with a strong Palm Beach feel, and our room was comfortable and well appointed. But Room 404 had a loud, jarring mechanical noise starting at 7:00 AM and again in the evenings. It was impossible to ignore and disrupted the relaxing atmosphere we wanted. If you book, I'd ask for a room away from the equipment near 404. The beach towels felt thin and like an afterthought, more dollar-store quality than what you'd expect from the rest of the brand. Also, the black ironing board cover left smudges on my white linen shorts, so be careful with light-colored clothes.

The staff were wonderful, especially Johnwayne, a young man who was new to the job. He was warm, friendly, and so helpful, never scoffing at a request and often offering help before I could ask. Every hotel needs someone like him. I'd definitely come back, and would really like to stay at the Nantucket White Elephant too. I thought the White Elephant in Palm Beach was very nice. I especially loved the beautiful, large bathrooms and the great walk-in shower, with both a handheld and a rain shower. I was disappointed that there wasn't a proper swimming pool, an on-site restaurant with more variety, later room service, or a later checkout time. I grew up in the hospitality business. My brother created the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas and the Cafes starting in London, and also created Mortons im LA. I wrote a book called "Everybody Eats There" about 100 of the world's most legendary restaurants. Arianna Huffington loved it so much that she asked me to write for her when she owned the Huffington Post. I did that for four and a half years, writing about many great hotels. The building is beautiful, and the care put into the design shows everywhere, right down to the smallest room hardware. The staff were incredible, professional, genuinely friendly, and welcoming. They made us feel at home and anticipated our needs while handling requests. The reception was wonderful, and I can't say enough about the bell staff. Xavier and Damian got us wherever we needed to go in style, with smiles and helpful information. I wish there were a White Elephant in every city!
