Quality Inn & Suites Panama City Beach

The odor was everywhere, from the elevator and hallways to the room. When I stepped off the elevator, I smelled mildew, old carpet, and something else unpleasant. The bathroom odor in our room was overwhelming, and the bedding had visible stains. It didn't seem like the room had been cleaned properly in a long time. I asked the front desk for help, but they sent me to inspect several other rooms, which had the same problems, and showed little concern. Frustrated, I went out, bought supplies, and cleaned the room myself. Guests shouldn't have to scrub and disinfect a hotel room to make it livable. We skipped the food, too. If the rooms aren't kept clean, I couldn't trust that the kitchen utensils were being washed properly. The whole property felt neglected, including the elevator and hallways. I wouldn't recommend staying here, even for one night. They don't seem to care about cleanliness, upkeep, or guest comfort. Save yourself the disappointment and stay elsewhere.

The suite was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel is well maintained in a great location. It could use some more current refurbishing to bring it in line with other Comfort Suites and hotels, though. The staff were fabulous, from the Manager and front desk to the breakfast buffet attendant and housekeeping. Thanks especially to the manager and staff for letting me know I'd left my luggage and tennis shoes in the breakfast area. The breakfast space could also be a bit larger, and the place could use some tender loving care. I'd rate it around 3 to 3 1/2 stars overall because of the dated look. Much thanks to the team!

Missy made my birthday stay amazing. She went above and beyond, sharing some city history, getting out a map, and pointing out places to visit. The room service team checked in each day to offer fresh towels, take out the trash, and make the bed when I asked. The location was close to everything on my itinerary, with a gas station, Dollar General, McDonald's, and Golden Chick within walking distance. I've never had a better experience at this location. I'll definitely return to both the hotel and the city. Thanks to Missy and the staff.

The Wi-Fi here is really weird, so management should do something about it. Room 412 has a prison-style light that shines into the room all night. Credit for wiring the fan and light on separate circuits, so the fan doesn't have to stay on all the time. The tiny pillows really aren't good. Three decent-sized ones would be better.
