Mountain View Lodge

The room was clean and nice, and the beds were comfy. There’s no complimentary breakfast, but the restaurant serves one at a very reasonable price, and it was really good. Dogs are welcome, though the walking area has lots of stickers that get stuck in shoes and paws.

I’m torn about this place. The staff were amazing: Evan, I think, was so helpful and friendly at night check-in, and checkout was kind. The rooms are beautiful, the light fixtures were lovely, and the bed was comfortable. But the bathtub in room 218 was disgusting and should be replaced. It also needs to be cleaned properly, with hard-water remover or vinegar to make it look clean. I tried to run a bath, but hair came back up at me, so I couldn’t use it. The microwave wouldn’t heat, either. We stayed for the pool and hot tub, but the pool area had no lights, so we couldn’t use the hot tub. The coffee bar was empty the first time I went to the lobby. There are no coffee pots in the rooms. On my second trip down there was plenty of coffee, but the vanilla creamer was gone and the lids didn’t fit the cups. I liked the staff, but my expectations for the stay were much higher than what I got.

I slept like a baby here, and really enjoyed the stay. The people were nice, the mountain setting was lovely at 1810m, and the clean room had wooden tables and chairs that gave it a warm feel. One thing, though: the tub in room 109 wouldn’t hold water, so I had to get creative.

For the low rate I paid, this was an okay stay. Two rooms cost less than $100, and the beds were okay. There was no hair dryer, clock, or cups. The dispensers for soap, conditioner, and shampoo didn’t work, and one room had no toilet paper. Luckily, we got what was supposedly their last roll.
