I travel most weekends for youth sports, so I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels. This one had a lot of problems. The room was dirty when I arrived, with shaving hair all over the sink and vanity, and I found three metal screws on the carpet near the HVAC after stepping on one. They’re replacing the units, but it made me wonder whether anyone had vacuumed. There was an unpleasant smell throughout the hotel, and our room smelled like cat urine. I’m not sure whether pets are allowed, but dogs were barking in the neighboring room, and they didn’t sound like service dogs. On our second night, kids ran through the halls over and over, interrupting our sleep. The mezzanine is plainly visible from the front desk, so it was hard to believe nobody noticed the noise. At check-in, I was mistakenly checked in and charged twice in two large separate amounts. I’m watching for the second charge to be removed, but until then that money is tied up. This stay had more issues than I’m used to.

I make the drive from MA to NJ twice a year for a one-day convention in Parsippany, and I always stay here. Check-in is easy and the staff are accommodating. Brandon even remembered me from my visit six months earlier. He’s pleasant, professional, and a great guy. I’m looking forward to coming back in April, and I’d recommend the hotel.

The staff are friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself is mediocre at best. If you’re an elite member hoping for perks, look elsewhere. There’s no members lounge, and upgrades aren’t available.

The Bistro was fantastic, with plenty of tea, wine, beer, and food. I enjoyed the yogurt parfait, cranberry juice, and OJ. The staff were welcoming and courteous, and NATE was GREAT, a real tea master.

There wasn’t enough bedding for the three guests on our reservation, and the staff’s only answer was to charge us for a second room. When I said I wasn’t paying for another room just to get pillows, they could have brought some from the empty room they were trying to sell me. They didn’t. The mobile key didn’t work either, and someone else’s hair was in the shower. Marriott hotels are usually good, but this one wasn’t.
