Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Parsippany Fairfield

The payment mess with my debit card was a huge part of how bad this stay was. They put through incorrect charges, then gave me conflicting explanations and kept blaming me when I asked them to sort it out. I felt they were lying to me, and I’ve never encountered hotel staff this unprofessional or dishonest. The place itself felt filthy. The hallways smelled awful, my room seemed unclean, and the whole property looked neglected. Breakfast was just as bad, with low-quality food that was poorly presented and barely edible. For what they charge, it was embarrassing. From the minute I arrived, the staff were rude and dismissive, treating basic questions like a nuisance. I usually don’t write reviews, but this experience at the Parsippany hotel was bad enough that I feel I have to warn people. I’d never stay again, and I’d tell others to avoid it. Plenty of better choices are out there.

After a few hotels nearer the faire let us down, we came back to this one and were happy with it again. The room, staff, service, and area were all great, so we’ll definitely return. My wife and I travel from eastern MA to the NY renaissance festival a few times each summer. I stayed here solo in 2019 and loved it, which is why I wanted to give it another try.

The hotel itself is very nice. Fat Cactus, the restaurant attached to it, was a different story. We sat at the bar, and I’ve never been treated so poorly by a bartender as an American. In my opinion, I was racially profiled. I’d suggest passing on it.
