Cobblestone Hotel & Suites - Pecos

The fire alarm went off at least twice a day, usually at night when I was trying to sleep. In my first room, the sheets had pee stains, and after a fight with the front desk I eventually got moved. Breakfast was a joke, the “hot” food was cold. They’re doing construction to remove the pool and add rooms, and housekeeping wouldn’t give me soap or shampoo during my stay, so I had to go to the desk for more. This was the worst hotel I’ve stayed at. When every other hotel in town is booked the same day, you have to wonder why this one still has rooms. Management clearly only cares about the $279 a night. If you’re working in the Permian Basin, don’t stay here. Zero stars.

This time I came here for a week while working days, hoping for a better stay. The rooms still haven’t been cleaned. Our company rents ten rooms here all year, and I get the feeling they just don’t care. We’ve asked to have them cleaned and keep being told we’re “on the list.” I’m fed up and hope I can get our company to take its business somewhere else. Anyone giving this hotel more than two stars must be from a third world country. Last time I stayed, I was working nights while construction went on in the hotel all day. It was miserable.

After an eight-hour drive, I checked in at 4:35 pm and found the room hadn’t been cleaned. The front desk told me I’d have to wait for housekeeping to arrive when I reported it. I asked for another clean room, but was told none were available. Once I called my company manager and explained what was going on, suddenly a room was available and I was moved. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

I stayed one night for work. The receptionist was very accommodating and even got breakfast started a little earlier for our crew. The beds were nice and clean, and the room had a modern TV and appliances, which you don’t always get at some hotels.
