Best Western Plus Vineyard Inn & Suites

We nearly gave this one five stars, which I rarely do. Since it was Sunday night, the rate was great, and they handed us two bottles of water and some snacks at check-in, a really nice touch. We walked about six minutes to the Keuka Restaurant, where the food was good and the portions huge. Dinner and drinks there cost more than our room. The little town is pleasant, too. Best Western stay we’ve had.

I normally book Marriotts, but there weren’t any in the area, so I tried this place and was pleasantly surprised. The bed was comfortable, the rooms were good, and breakfast was included. Its location also worked well for getting to the wineries.

I’ve always liked staying here because the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. This visit was different, though. We were put in an adjoining room, and the couple next door talked loudly late into the night. It sounded as if they were right in our room, and I could see light coming through, so it seemed like there was just one door between us. Sleeping was impossible. It wasn’t a pleasant stay, and I’ll have to rethink coming back.

We were only there for one night, and both the check-in and checkout teams were great. The front desk also helped when we asked about things to do nearby. We spent the day at Watkins Glen, which was lovely, and wished we could stay longer. Breakfast was especially good: the eggs beat the ones at some other Best Westerns we’ve tried, the coffee was amazing, and the homemade fried potatoes, whatever they call them in New York, were nicely crisp. It was also nice to have coffee available all day. A really nice stay.
