Candlewood Suites Perry-National Fairground Area by IHG

With better soundproofing on the windows, this could be an excellent place to stay. As it was, highway traffic carried through the bedroom all night, sometimes making it feel like vehicles were passing right through the room. Light sleepers should expect very little, or no, sleep. Earplugs helped a little, but the noise was still disruptive. I'm heading into the second leg of my Florida trip on zero sleep, so it's going to be a long day. It's a shame, because the hotel itself is very nice and clean, with spacious rooms and a comfortable bed. Staff were welcoming and friendly throughout my stay. I wanted to give it five stars.

Nice and polite staff, an excellent bed, and a great location with easy access to the fairgrounds. Chick-fil-A and Dunkin are nearby too. The AC unit above us made a lot of strange noise, though, and the shower sloped away from the drain.

This place has been updated nicely, including the store and common area. The kitchenette feels upscale, and I liked the desk, bedside tables with USB and Type C ports, dresser, closet area, and nice luggage carts. The elevator, hall, and room were very clean. It's right beside the interstate, so bring a fan or white noise machine if that bothers you.

It's a really nice, fairly new hotel, and I've stayed at plenty of Candlewood Suites while traveling for my company. But this one has a bad refrigerator electrical problem. The breaker trips just for the fridge about four times a day. I reported it and was told there's nothing they can do because it happens in every room. Food has gone bad, which is ridiculous. If you're planning a long-term stay, I don't recommend it.
