The apartment smelled strongly like a sewer when I finally got to see it, after being told it was being painted and cleaned. During the walkthrough, I was told the smell was because it hadn’t been cleaned. I didn’t sign the lease, and Tim later called to say there was water damage under the vinyl. I felt they might have had me sign for a moldy apartment if I hadn’t insisted on seeing it first. Before that, I’d toured the place, liked the amenities and price, applied, and was approved right away. I paid the admin and application fees. My lease was due to end in a few days, but they kept me waiting four days to see the actual apartment. They knew I needed to move soon, yet strung me along and took my money. I still haven’t received a refund, and my calls are being ignored. I don’t understand why they’d show a place that smelled like that or try to hide it. Be careful with this place.

I’ve lived in downtown Phoenix since 2018, and there’s always something to do. I’ve been at Proxy since 2023 and renewed my lease again this year. It’s a smaller community, so the service feels personal. The management is the best I’ve had anywhere I’ve lived. They take good care of me, are helpful, and are easy to deal with.

Proxy emergency maintenance couldn’t help when I got locked out. The person said he didn’t have a key or a leasing manager on his call list, and offered no help. What are you supposed to do if you’re locked out and can’t afford a locksmith? Things happen, and it’s very unacceptable that maintenance can’t assist.

I called at 1:39 p.m. after getting an automated reply when I asked about availability and a tour. The person I spoke with seemed dismissive and uninterested. I asked basic questions about applying, how long they could hold an apartment, and the view from the available units, but got short, vague answers. When I tried to clarify the view, his tone sounded snarky. I felt uncomfortable and ended the call early after thanking him. I expected more professionalism and friendliness from the leasing office.

The pool area is loud late at night, and living right above this property means I hear it regularly. It seems management has no noise rules or ordinances for tenants, and it affects everyone nearby. Dear property manager, please remind your tenants that 3:30 in the morning is not the time to go skinny dipping.
