Briarstone Inn

We only needed somewhere basic since we weren't planning to spend much time at the hotel, and the low price suited that. It's an older place, with little atmosphere and no free breakfast or in-room table, desk, or chair. Although our room was smoke-free, people seemed to smoke in the doorways as a matter of course, including guests and employees, without much thought for others. As we were leaving, a housekeeper followed my mom with a tip envelope and stood waiting for her to put money in it.

For the price, it was a decent place to stay. The room felt a little small with all the storage space, and the sheets and comforters could use an upgrade. It was my first time here, and I had a nice stay overall.

The room smelled stale as soon as we arrived, and it was extremely dirty. The floors looked untouched, some molding was coming off the wall, and the scratched-up areas needed fresh paint.

We had a quiet stay, and nobody bothered us. The rooms were very clean, the appliances all worked, and the bathroom had plenty of towels and toilet paper. Everyone was so nice, too. It's within walking distance of lots of restaurants and stores, and the price was great. We'll stay here again next time we're back.
