Alder Hotel Uptown New Orleans

We never got our $100 deposit back, and it’s been almost two months. Our bank confirmed it was charged, not held, just as I saw on the payment terminal the night receptionist used. The hotel has offered no real solution despite several attempts to contact them, and their communication has been unprofessional and unhelpful. The beds rest on metal sheet bases that clank with every movement, making comfortable sleep almost impossible. We were also disappointed to see negative Google reviews being deleted to preserve the rating, instead of addressing complaints. Our New Orleans trip was amazing until we arrived at Alder Hotel Uptown New Orleans. The unresolved deposit, uncomfortable room, and lack of professionalism made this one of our worst hotel experiences. We’ll tell anyone who asks to avoid it. There are much better options in New Orleans.

We were right next to Ochsner Baptist, which made things convenient for our trip. There was plenty of parking, and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool in the afternoon. The rooms were spacious, the beds very comfortable, and the staff were so friendly that check-in was easy. A great stay from beginning to end. We’ll definitely come back.

The room was good, the staff were nice, and we appreciated having a free parking lot. There’s a Walgreens within walking distance, and the hotel was about 10 minutes from Bourbon Street with the area well lit at night. We’d canceled another hotel because its reviews were awful, so we were happy with this stay. We’d use it again if we come back for vacation.

We had a nice, quiet stay in a safe area with free parking, and we’d come back. A few things could’ve been better, though. The crib advertised by the hotel was a very short bassinet-style setup, and I’m not sure it had all the parts. My toddler is tall, but it wouldn’t have worked for us either way. Housekeeping came in the morning, which was great, but then returned twice in the early afternoon while my toddler was napping. That only happened one day, so maybe it was a hotel-side mix-up. The outlets were very loose too. My phone charger kept falling out until I found one that worked.
