Comfort Inn Pine Grove I-81 Hershey Area

After a full day on the road, we were exhausted and nearly willing to put up with the first room. But the bedding had lots of hair, and there appeared to be dried vomit along the bed skirt. The front desk staff were nice and quickly gave us another room, though it was only a little better. When I pulled back the thin, ratty bedspread, there were red streaks, and we decided we couldn't stay. In both rooms, things looked so filthy that there seemed to be bodily fluids. I've never walked out of a hotel before, and I'm not fussy, but this was too much. The building smelled strongly of urine, and the lobby, hallway, and gross-looking elevator were in awful shape. The room smelled so bad it was hard to breathe and looked like a run-down $20 motel, though it was priced like a nice hotel. As we left, a woman said we looked unhappy. We told her we were leaving, and she said we were the second guests to walk out that night, which made us feel less unreasonable. This was by far the grossest hotel I've ever seen. It's shameful they use the Choice and Comfort Inn names. I'd avoid anything under those names.

I expected a decent stay, but left feeling frustrated and uncomfortable. The room smelled strongly of smoke, the sink was clogged, there was no water in the bathtub, and we found bugs. It didn't seem fit to rent, especially for a Comfort Inn. Check-in was terrible too: the desk agent kept us waiting 15 minutes before handing over the keys, then questioned how I got the employee rate and where I worked. That was unprofessional and none of his business. I booked two rooms at that rate, and this was easily my worst hotel experience. I wouldn't recommend this location.

Breakfast wasn't edible. The coffee was either cold or so watered down that it hardly deserved the name, the eggs were awful, and the sausage was just okay. The room was rundown and smelled terrible. There was hair in one of the beds, so I used the other one, which seemed cleaner. I had no other option in the area because I needed a pet-friendly place, so I put up with it and left as soon as I could.

The desk clerk was friendly and the lobby looked clean, but there were roaches in our room. I hate posting a negative review, though I wish I'd read one before we stayed the night.
