Quality Suites

At 4:00pm we were told our room was still being cleaned and to come back in an hour, even though we had a confirmed reservation. We returned at 6:00pm after waiting in a 20-minute line, only to hear the same thing from an uninterested receptionist. She denied speaking with us earlier and wouldn’t check us into any of the 100 available rooms at the rate we’d confirmed online. She asked us to wait in the lobby another hour while they cleaned. We insisted on speaking to the manager, who wasn’t there. The receptionist reluctantly called him on her cell, but he would only talk to her. He eventually got her to override the system and give us our confirmed room. We’d also watched other guests in line deal with similar booking problems and concerns. Shocking.

The room was filthy and run down. The kitchen was dirty, the bedspread had cigarette burns, and there was dirt all over the carpet. A dirty rag hung from the shower curtain bar, and the toilet had stains. I felt like I might need some sort of inoculation after staying there. The front desk clerk was unsettlingly creepy when we arrived. This place is a complete H#ll hole, not worth $35. It ought to be condemned and bulldozed.

The location was good and breakfast was okay, but the stay was very disappointing. The rooms are old and badly need updating. Our AC was broken, and the phone didn’t work, so we couldn’t call the front desk. With no maintenance staff available, we had to move rooms at 1:00am. The ice machines were broken and the towels were dirty too. We were told extra transport vans would be running for the concert, but only one van ran once an hour, with 40 people in line. We had to pay for a cab each way. We were reimbursed for half of what we paid.

The manager brushed off my complaints as if none of this was a problem. Bricks were coming loose from the fireplace, there were dips in the floor under the carpet, and the fold-out bed had springs sticking out. Pictures had fallen off the walls and were just left leaning against them. This may have been the worst hotel I’ve stayed in.
