We slept well on the comfortable beds, and the bathroom was clean. Our second-floor room also had a fridge and microwave, and the A/C worked well. Staff were friendly, and we were pleased with our three-day stay. Breakfast was fine for us: dried cereal and milk, instant oatmeal, really good cinnamon rolls, bagels, toast, cream cheese, orange juice, apple juice, and good coffee. We’d certainly stay again.

About 25 years ago, when I was much younger, I used to visit family here with my dad and stay at this place. I still remember a painting at the front desk that caught my preteen imagination: a girl or woman from the Victorian era, I think, in a soft pink dress, sitting in a chair. There may have been palm trees, or perhaps someone was fanning her with a palm frond. This five-star review is mostly for that painting. Is it still there? What’s its title, and who painted it? And thank you for all those lovely stays years ago.

It’s set back from the traffic but still close to all kinds of places to eat. The staff were really friendly and accommodating.

The bed bugs were the last straw. The motel said the rooms were non-smoking, but the hallways smelled of smoke and my room reeked like an ashtray. Even the towels and sheets smelled like cigarettes. I checked out instead of staying the second night and wasn’t refunded for it. They can keep the money. I’d rather sleep in my car. Just a horrible experience.
