The place was in transition during our visit, with the pool closed and some construction and remodeling underway, so some parts were hard to assess. Still, our room was comfortable, clean, and everything worked. It's easy to reach, and there's a Big Y across the street if you need groceries. We had a good weekend stay that didn't add any stress.

I've been coming back regularly for six years and always look forward to another stay. The Kautilya Inn, formerly a Holiday Inn Express, is clean, quiet, and well maintained. When something small goes wrong, they fix it quickly, and the staff are super friendly. I think it's the best hotel in the area. It's also handy for local attractions, including Mystic Seaport, Mohegan Sun Casino, Old Sturbridge Village, Foxwoods Casino, Submarine Force Museum, Battleship Cove, New Bedford Whaling Museum, and plenty more. Breakfast is the one part I'm not a big fan of. Maybe that will change now that they're no longer part of the Holiday Inn chain that serves this kind of breakfast. If you're staying in the area, I highly recommend the Kautilya Inn.
