Courtyard Pocatello

This mix-up caused stress and delay around an important work commitment, and the inconsistent response has made me question staying here again. I would like management to explain the official policy directly and how it will be applied consistently. A generic explanation wouldn't be enough, and I'd like assurance that the issue will be addressed. I've stayed at this location many times for business because my husband and I both travel for work, and I've never had a problem until now. I called asking to be connected to my husband's room, giving the receptionist, Rebecca, his name and room number. She said corporate privacy policy meant they couldn't transfer calls to guest rooms. It was urgent because he was running late for an important meeting. After she refused, I contacted the company he works through. Someone from their office called the same hotel, spoke with Rebecca, and gave the same name and room number. That caller was transferred without hesitation. We then found out my husband was actually staying at a neighboring Marriott hotel. I understand that locations can get confused, but the privacy rule still seems off-putting. It apparently kept a wife from reaching her husband in an urgent situation, yet posed no obstacle when the call came from a company representative. If this really is corporate policy, it seems to have been applied selectively. How this was handled will affect where we stay when traveling.
