Nick Patel, the manager, made a real difference for me and my daughter. He's one of the kindest, most heartfelt people I've come across, and the whole staff treated us with hospitality and kindness. I stayed long term, and everything went great. The rooms have been renovated, and they allow pets. One of the best hotel experiences I've had. Thanks, Nick and team, yall are appreciated beyond words!

I should've checked the other reviews first. The room itself was nice and clean, and the bed was nice, but I went to shower and there were no towels. I had to get dressed and go down to the office for some. Worse, the water had a stench, though I don't know where it came from. I showered in it and came out smelling bad. I can only imagine trying to drink it.

We had an apartment-sized fridge and a full-size microwave in the room, with Food Lion and Walmart nearby, which helped since there aren't many restaurant choices around. For a longer stay, that might be limiting. We were here for the Chincoteague pony swim, and the short, easy drive over made it nice to have a break from the crowded island. Our double room was clean, comfortable, recently renovated, and roomy enough for two adults. Renovations are still underway throughout the hotel, but they didn't disturb our stay or sleep. The AC worked well, the bathroom had enough room for both of us to get ready at once, and the beds were VERY cozy. There's not much space to hang clothes, though a full-size ironing board and iron were provided. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the staff were friendly. The clean parking lot was well lit and felt safe. I've already booked another solo stay.

The room was quiet, and had a small fridge and microwave. Check-in was easy, the front desk attendant was very helpful, and the shower water got nice and hot. There was air and heat. But there was mildew on the pillow, stains on the towels, and hair in the shower. I got a replacement pillow. I tried to leave a really good review before, but this is what happened to me. I saw a small bug by my ear and another on the blanket, and that was the last straw. I left after staying one night. The host had been very helpful, and I'm not sure whether this was a one-time thing. They agreed to refund the nights I hadn't stayed, but more than a month later there was still no refund, so I had to go through Airbnb. They only refunded one night and said they'd give me a $30 credit or pay it back in USD. They took 45 cents off, and now I have to file it through taxation. They were horrible about the refund.

For the price, this is a good place to settle in for a night or maybe a month, though I think rates change for biweekly stays. Rooms had a fridge, microwave, TV, free wifi, and plenty of outlets. It's welcoming to pets and kids, and the residents I met were really friendly. I told people this could become the place to stay in town. I was surprised to find half the property being renovated. The first night I had to switch rooms twice because of water damage in the ceiling and a stale smell, but I liked the final room. It had just what I needed: bathe, sleep, eat, repeat. Staff helped when concerns came up. A special thanks to Stadivya, and sorry, I didn't hear her name right at first. We called our goodbyes across the parking lot, and traffic on the road muffled it. She addressed my concerns, answered all my questions, and helped extend my stay. The well water has a distinct smell, taste, and feel if you're not used to it. Mineral water is good for you, but it takes getting used to. Light comes in under the curtains from the outdoor walkways, so I used a sleep mask. Highway traffic and trucks are loud, and I used sleep music to drown them out. Most things are within a 15-minute drive, with a beach about 40 minutes away. Walmart, car shops, a few clothing stores and fast food spots are close by. If I remember right, Hardee's, taco bell, subway, mcdonald's, and arbys are nearby. I was visiting family, and the ones who picked other places to stay, coughcough best west, had trouble and didn't stay the night.
