The person who greeted us was friendly and efficient, but the facility is in general disrepair and seems to be struggling with maintenance and basic supplies. I paid almost $300 a night and felt totally taken. If it had been under $100, I might have let things go, but at that price the room should meet a basic standard. We called it the “poets room” because someone had written a poem in marker on the torn matting of a wall print, and other people had added messages. It felt more like a lean-to than a hotel room. There were holes in the bed sheets, and both the upholstered chair and desk chair needed a deep clean or replacement. The tub drain took 20 minutes to clear after a shower. The blow drier was melted and covered with stickers, and even the dresser drawers wouldn't close properly. Outside, the stair repair nearest our room was unfinished, with a random piece of furniture under the staircase. The friendly people running the place seem either overwhelmed or unconcerned as long as guests hand over the money. Hopefully this saves someone else from the same experience, and maybe Rodeway will make it right.

The staff were amazing and tried to meet our needs as much as they could. The room was cozy, nice, and clean. I'd love to stay here again on a future visit to NJ.

My boyfriend and I stayed one night, then needed to add another for personal reasons. The woman at the front desk was disrespectful and unprofessional. When he paid for the extra night, she said his card wasn't going through, even though he put it through twice. He went back to the room for another card and got a bank notification for $400. When he confronted her, she rudely said he'd pulled the card out too fast. She said all she could do was give us a new key. He still hasn't received his money. Scamming!!!

The rooms were very dated, and I'm not even sure they were cleaned. We don't smoke, but there were cigarette ashes in our sink. The AC kept turning itself off during the night. Definitely won't be going back.

Please don't stay here, especially if you're traveling with children. Our family of four, two adults and kids aged 15 and 9, booked the Roadway Inn Point Pleasant for June 12-14, 2025, Father's Day weekend. The outside color didn't match the website, so we wondered if they'd renovated. Once inside, the lobby smelled like gasoline and oil, like a mechanics shop. No one was at the desk or in sight. I said hello loudly several times before noticing a bell, then rang it repeatedly. After five minutes, my husband went looking through the halls. I peeked into the “breakfast” area beside the desk, which was filthy and full of boxes, apparently being used for storage and not cleaned in a long time. My husband found employees gathered outside under the middle stairways near the rooms in the parking lot. When the woman finally came to the desk, she didn't greet us or apologize for the wait. During check-in I mentioned I'd booked the option with breakfast, but she said they don't serve breakfast. I asked about a refund, and she refused without checking or trying to help. I showed the email confirming breakfast was included, and then she said she couldn't help because I'd booked through Priceline and needed to contact them. I also asked about the pool, and she said it wasn't open and wouldn't be for another week or so, another disappointment for the kids. The room key envelope was torn and marked up, as if it had been reused many times. The lot was tiny and hard to maneuver with our SUV. We went to inspect the room before carrying luggage up. It was around 90 degrees outside that day, and the room smelled awful, like gasoline from the lobby. The thermostat showed 88 degrees inside. The fridge and microwave were dirty, the chair and couch were ripped and stained, the toilet water was murky and looked dirty after flushing, and a spider and several ants were crawling in the tub. The bed had stained, unclean white sheets, and the top comforter sheet looked dingy. We were already done with the stay. We turned on the air to cool the room in case we had to stay the bare minimum night, then walked by the beach while I called Priceline about canceling and getting a refund. My husband searched for local hotels with vacancies. Around 8 p.m. we found one closer to the beach and boardwalk that had rooms, so at least we had somewhere that felt nicer and safer. We didn't stay here because it felt unsafe, dirty, and smelled horrible. It definitely wasn't worth the $400-plus we spent for only a night and a half. This place needs new management and major renovations.
