Club Wyndham Sea Gardens

The location makes meals easy: there are plenty of good places about a 10 minute walk away, or you can use the free shuttle app. Bring a streaming TV stick, though, since the television isn't smart and only has basic cable. The cafe was good but slow, so plan around the wait, and the tiki bar's drink selection was limited. Staff were very friendly and quick with requests like towels. We stayed with family for a quick trip and found clean rooms, easy parking, pretty plants and waterfalls, five pools, and a private beach entrance with private bathrooms across the street. The gym had more equipment than a typical hotel gym, including dumbbells up to 30 lb, a lifting bench, shoulder press and leg curl machines, treadmills, a bike, an elliptical, and a good rowing machine. There were lots of activities, but the music carried into our cabana room all day, so it wasn't very peaceful. Someone also started the leaf blower at 7am, which made sleeping in hard.

The staff were attentive and accommodating, and let me check in three hours early and check out late. I appreciated that there were no sales pitches or pushy employees, just friendly, helpful service. I had a great stay at Club Wyndham Sea Gardens and would happily return.

The ocean was terrific and the location right on the beach is great. The pool was nice too. But the resort looked nothing like the stock picture, and I couldn't tell where that image came from. I'd also misunderstood that Club Wyndham is a time share. We lost 3 hours of vacation to a hard sell for time shares. Maybe I could have opted out, but I wish they'd told us at check-in instead of springing it on us. None of the rooms had a view. At least in the south-facing one, the shower is a 30" high hot tub you have to step over, only about 12" wide, with no safety bars. The jets were black and needed cleaning. You also have to rent beach chairs. We'll go somewhere else next time.

The price was great, and we found it hard to find anything else as good for the money. We were a group of women and felt safe walking around. You're close to the busy Fort Lauderdale people picture, if that's what you're after, but far enough outside it that the area felt safe to us. Check which unit you're booking because there are several buildings. Some are across the street from the beach, but it's only a 30 second walk, which didn't bother us. The pools and hot tubs sit in a beautiful area with a great atmosphere. We had a great time and highly recommend it. I think there's something here for retirees, young families, and college students.
