Kevin at the front desk was phenomenal from my first contact to my last. He listened, helped, and gave us the directions we needed. But the hotel smelled like animals and food all together. I was in room 133, and the room next door smelled so strongly of dirty dog that it made me throw up. The back door and inside entrance door were broken, and I didn’t feel safe. I don’t remember seeing any security. Breakfast was awful, just sugar, sugar. People were urinating outside, and abandoned luggage was lying around. I know we only paid $94 a day, but Extended stay, you need to do better. I can’t believe how rancid the place smelled.

I booked 11 nights for abdominal surgery and asked for a low floor or a room near the elevator. I called a week before, the day before, and on check-in day to confirm, and they said it was arranged. Then I was given Floor 3, at the end of the hallway, which was a big problem because walking was very difficult after surgery. The room had chipped paint everywhere, stained lampshades, rust marks from the door bolts, and only two mini roaches. I drenched them with the closest thing I could find, dish soap. When I moved the sheets on the day I left, I found a urine stain on the bed linen. Yum. The pull-out mattress seemed like it was from the 1800s, it was in terrible shape. The room wasn’t stocked for an 11-night stay, so I had to call for dishes, silverware, cookware, and a hair dryer. I also needed more trash bags, and the receptionist loudly counted out three for me, as if she were keeping track of how many I used. Very odd. The place felt low-key like a homeless shelter: homeless people everywhere, indecent behavior from other guests, and the hallway smelled like a nursing home because of the urine odor. There was always a crowd smoking and drinking in public by the front doors, with beer cans left everywhere, so walking through felt uncomfortable. On my last day, a guest even asked if I had any drugs to sell.

The location is good and it’s dog-friendly, but the rest was a mess. Our first room had broken plumbing, with water spraying behind the wall. They moved us to an inferior room, and we were so exhausted from the road that we accepted it. The shower head dangled from the wall, the room was dirty, and the hallways reeked of weed. The towel hook was broken, there were cigarette burns in the non-smoking room, and the shower was dirty with pubic hair all over it. Rusty door hinges, chipped paint, and loud cats meowing all night in the room beside us added to it. I needed the advertised office suite for Zoom, but couldn’t access it. “Breakfast” was literally oatmeal packets. I wasn’t going to say anything, but an employee called to ask about the stay, so I told him. Then he asked me to leave a review. That was the icing on the cake.

Thank you to Kadina, the manager, for being so nice and understanding, and to Kevin for his great customer service. Since Kadina became manager, there’s been a beautiful upgrade and the place is clean and looks really nice. We feel at home here, which makes the stay amazing. This was hands down my best hotel experience. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. From check-in to check-out, the staff were welcoming and attentive and made me feel valued. Every detail was handled thoughtfully, and the atmosphere was peaceful and luxurious. I left grateful, happy, and well cared for. I’d absolutely stay again and highly recommend it. 5 Stars....
