Surf and Sand Seaside

We came to Pompano for a funeral, and it was a relief not to have to worry about where we were staying. I’d wondered whether a smaller place would work out, but I’m really glad we chose it. The room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and having a full kitchenette made things easy. We didn’t swim, though the pool looked very well cared for. I’d happily stay here again if I’m back in town.

They emailed me a voucher afterward and called it free, but cleaning and other fees made it costlier than booking the guesthouse again. During the stay, the TV and AC both failed. I called three times to get them fixed. I wouldn’t recommend the place.

I can’t recommend Surf and Sand Seaside. The owner or manager was rude and unprofessional, and even basic questions seemed to irritate him. His tense, disrespectful manner showed no understanding or hospitality. That interaction alone would be enough to keep me from suggesting this hotel to anyone. There are plenty of other places where guests get basic courtesy.

I was comfortable here the whole time, and it had that home away from home feel. Communication with staff was great. When I accidentally entered the wrong door code several times and got locked out at 1 a.m., the emergency line got someone to reset it and let me back in. For sheets, towels, or toilet paper, I just texted the number and got what I needed. The cleaning staff were around several times a week, and the place was well kept. The rooms are fully equipped, so I bought food and had DoorDash bring it right to my room. The bed was huge and comfortable, and the AC got really cold. The pool was always clean, and the beach is right across the street. There’s also a grill on site. I stayed for a few weeks, and guests were quiet at night. I even had the pool to myself several times, which is rare at a hotel or motel. One of the best places in the area for me.
