Lighthouse Cove Resort

We were wrong to doubt the reviews. The rooms were dirty, old, falling apart, and smelly. Even the dishwasher rack was the wrong size, too small to slide in and out. I kept thinking management must have reached the point of not caring. I'm not boujee, and I thought the rooms would be fine for us Midwesterners, but I was flat-out wrong. We left after the second day and rented an Airbnb in town instead.

The staff were great, and there are good food and drink options right at the resort. For the best views, I'd try to get a room on the third floor or higher. Hard to beat this place.

I enjoy staying here every year, but smoking by the pool keeps the place from getting five stars from me. The pool area is huge, yet there's only one small corner where I can sit without getting secondhand smoke. The resort needs to improve that part of the pool setup.

We've come here a few times and love it. It's never been crowded for us, the location is great, and the whole staff is kind and helpful. We've never noticed any smells, and the place is always very clean apart from the floors and balcony. We just wear shoes, which we do everywhere anyway. The balcony in 514 needs replacing. Tile doesn't hold up well outside. No complaints beyond that.
