Riverside by the Beach Apartments

I’d read a few months of reviews before our stay, and honestly, they made me nervous and gave me second thoughts about booking. The place turned out to exceed our expectations. It’s an older building and definitely not the Ritz Carlton, but it seemed well maintained, with lush managed grounds and a crystal-clear pool. Our two-bedroom was clean and had solid furnishings. For the rate, the value was a 10 out of 10. The location was ideal since we visit Pompano all the time. No complaints, I recommend it. I don’t think you’ll find better value for your money this close to the beach.

DON’T DO IT! After 20 hours of driving, my family and I, my husband, two kids, and me, arrived at this “resort” exhausted and knew right away we couldn’t stay. It was disgusting and nothing like the listing. There was leftover food on the floor, a noodle stuck to the wall, stained sheets, and a toilet that wouldn’t flush. The neighborhood didn’t seem safe either. We went to Pompano Beach around Christmas, so by then nothing was available and we spent a fortune trying to find somewhere else to stay. I’ve been trying for a week to get my money back, but the company is refusing. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

Stay away! Rocketstay manages this property, and its staff made my trip miserable. I have a log of texts, emails, and calls over multiple days to prove it. Their online access system, at least on Android, is broken. They offered no workaround, so you cannot get into your unit unless you find someone with an iPhone. The staff either speak no English or are otherwise unable to help. When I reported that my TV did not work, they first said, “We're glad your TV is now working.” After I reminded them what I had said, they told me it was not supposed to work. It took more calls and two more days before they finally sent someone. After all that, they gave me a useless free-night voucher, apparently to discourage me from leaving a bad Vrbo review. There are plenty of nice units around. Stay away from Rocketstay.

I want to sincerely thank supervisor Mayrelin Mendoza for the wonderful attention she gave me during my hotel stay. I was in room 403, and Mayrelin was professional and friendly from the moment I arrived. She always made sure everything was in order, and she was exceptionally helpful. Her warm attitude and dedication made my stay much more pleasant. It is a real pleasure to meet people so committed to good service. I will certainly return to this hotel, knowing I will be in good hands with such a professional team. Thank you, Mayrelin, for making my stay so enjoyable.
