Travelodge by Wyndham Pompano Beach

The photos were really misleading. Pulling up felt like arriving at a horror movie set, and the office smelled strongly of urine. The room had a grimy feel and reeked of cleaning products. The shower had black stains, and I found little curly black hairs on the towels after showering. I felt so unsafe I thought about sleeping in my car at Walmart instead. DO NOT STAY HERE.

We came for the MCR concert and left without even spending the night. The building looked close to falling apart, and there were suspicious people around. We didn’t feel comfortable leaving our cat alone in the room. There was only one sheet on each bed, mold and odd brown water in the shower, pee in the toilet when we arrived, broken furniture, and roaches running around. The place was DISGUSTING AND VERY DIRTY. Just DO NOT STAY HERE!

We checked in, then had to find another hotel. The mattresses and linens were grimy and dirty, there were marks on the walls that looked like blood and who knows what else, and the room smelled of cigarette smoke. The shower and bathroom weren’t clean. There was a phone with cords all over that wasn’t even plugged in, sick individuals hanging around outside, and yellow tape around work areas. They still wanted to charge $120. We’re waiting to be reimbursed by this hotel from hell. Never again, stay away!

This hotel deserves a rating below zero. If I were making a scale with four as the highest, Travelodge by Wyndham in Pompano Beach, Florida would be the lowest, followed by 1, 2, 3, and 4. The room was filthy: shower, toilet, sink, towels, dresser, nightstand, and floor were all dirty, with trash tucked under the nightstand. Both fitted and flat sheets had stains, hair, and cigarette burns. The housekeeper’s work was horrible, and I say that as someone who was an excellent professional housekeeper myself. They overcharged my card by $227, although the receipt said $189.98. When I called the front desk, the man who had helped me get the room denied charging $227 and suggested I might have made that purchase somewhere else. I told him this was my first hotel this year and in the last three years, and that I would dispute it. I try to avoid hotels because of what I know housekeepers do in rooms, and some do much worse work than others. I don’t recommend this hotel. I didn’t want to stay, but the short notice left me with little choice. I arrived on 12-7-2021 and tried to get a refund for the remaining nights I’d paid for so I could go elsewhere.
