Home2 Suites by Hilton Savannah Airport

The room was decently clean, and the Home2 breakfast was acceptable. Those were the only things that saved this from a one-star rating. We stayed two nights for a trip to Savannah, choosing the hotel because its website said it had an airport shuttle. When we arrived at 11, we were told the shuttle stopped at 7 PM and we should take an Uber. Most SAV flights arrive near midnight or leave early, so those seem like the main times a shuttle would be needed. The front desk employee showed no interest in greeting us or asking if we needed anything. Luckily, I had a digital key and went straight to our room. Before our final night, I asked about a morning ride to the airport, assuming the shuttle would run for morning flights. It wasn't operating that day either, and again we were told to Uber. As a Diamond member who spends most nights in airport hotels, I find it unacceptable to advertise a shuttle and then not provide it. Other hotels with limited shuttle hours clearly post them in the app so guests can make an informed choice.

We didn't stay for breakfast, but the tea and coffee selection on the way out was helpful. The location was great, and the rooms and service were fair. A couple of things bothered me. There was an unexpected parking charge, which felt ridiculous given how much parking seemed to be available. Our room was near the lobby entrance, beside a bonfire, so we could hear just about everything happening around it below us until around 10:30 p.m.

We left and stayed at the adjacent Marriott. At check-in, our room had no heat, even though it was freezing outside. They offered blankets but said there wasn't another room. We were told we could check out without a charge, which was laughable. I still have a $5 charge on my credit card.

Good location, clean room, and accommodating, friendly staff. The shower pressure was nice too. The continental breakfast wasn't as good as ones we've had at cheaper hotels, though, so don't pick this place for the free breakfast.
